BREATHE

Still high after the Dean Lerner workshop I attended this past weekend. The setu bandha sarvangasana was heavenly. I coupled the workshop with an amazing meal with a good friend and a trip to the new bookstore Parnassus, so it was an ever so wonderful day and weekend. Praise be for Tomo&Edie organic baby kimono and vintage kimono hair accessories.
I've been teaching some yoga classes at the Vanderbilt Center for Integrative Health and I love it. It's so gratifying to see people get relief from pain through yoga. I am teaching a back care class and a restorative class. I don't normally teach much restorative so it's fun to focus on the breath. It's all about the breath. It's all about the breath. It's all about the breath. It's so simple yet so challenging to breathe sometimes. I would never buy a rock or a necklace or a t-shirt with "BREATHE" on it, but I understand why one would feel the need to make such a thing or to buy it.
My Edie is unbearably precious. She says, "I don't want much for Christmas, Mom. I am so happy with you and our happy house." Hallelujah! I shake my head at all my good fortune. It's the simple things: a delicious deep breath, a happy, happy daughter, a perfectly ripe mango or avocado, and some very special friends and then some.
